Engine Overhaul

This is a new page on this site.  I am currently overhauling the engine and I'll try to show a few pictures and tell a little bit about my engine overhaul.   Currently the overhaul is complete and allcylinders are 72/80 to 74/80.  Below are a few pictures.

Left Case.

camfollower.jpg

This is the cam follower sticking out of the case.  It's the follower for the exhaust valve on cylinder number 4.  Evidently the valve spring broke and allowed the pushrod to beat the pulp out of the end of the cam follower - thus the mushroom effect.(look closely). It was sticking in the case and the valve was not opening and closing correctly.

Engine is completely overhauled now.  It runs good.  I had to send the Stromberg carb off for overhaul.
